GNR officers yesterday intercepted a bus with 50 foreign passengers that entered Portugal through the border crossing in Marco, in the municipality of Arronches, Portalegre; an unauthorised crossing point.

The bus, which had two drivers, also foreign, was sent to Caia, in Elvas, to be inspected by SEF Immigration and Borders officials.

A police source said 48 passengers stayed on the Spanish side of the border to be checked; SEF was verifying the situation of two people, and two others were allowed to remain in Portugal.
