Faro district under yellow weather warning

The district of Faro in the south of Portugal is currently under a yellow weather warning due to the forecast of maritime unrest, with south-easterly waves measuring 2 to 2.5 metres, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The yellow notice for this district will be in effect between 6am and 6pm today. According to the IPMA, the yellow warning is issued whenever there is a risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.

The IPMA predicts from today and at least until Sunday on the continent, showers are expected that may be strong and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Today very cloudy skies and more intense and frequent showers are predicted from the beginning of the afternoon in the central and southern regions and the possibility of thunderstorms from the beginning of the afternoon, more likely in the interior of the central and southern regions.
