The first 100 percent digital edition of ModaLisboa, takes place 30 years after the 1st, which took place in April 1991 at Teatro São Luiz. At that time, 13 designers presented collections for the winter of 1991/92. In April 2021, between today and Sunday, there will be more than 20 national brands and creators to present their proposals, without an associated season, similar to the previous edition. According to the organisation, it will be four days "to celebrate designer Fashion, discuss Sustainability and the Future, to get to know international projects and the national textile industry in depth, buy Portuguese Design and attend the meeting between Fashion and innovation".

Through an application for mobile phones and 'tablets', a 'TV' application for Meo customers, a 'microsite' and ModaLisboa accounts on the various social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), it will be possible to see, in addition to catwalk shows, interviews, backstage reports, conversations, 'workshops', a 'digital talent exhibition' and shopping in an 'online' store. Among the brands and creators that present collections in this edition are Béhen, Nuno Baltazar, Awaytomars, Hibu, Buzina, Constança Entrudo, Valentim Quaresma, Carlos Gil, Gonçalo Peixoto, Luís Carvalho, Ricardo Preto and Ricardo Andrez. In addition, the collections of the five finalists of Sangue Novo will also be presented, a competition aimed at finalists in higher education courses in Fashion Design at national and international schools and young ‘designers’ at the beginning of their careers.

The 56th edition of ModaLisboa, co-organised with the Lisbon City Council, will be the first in which all the shows are accessible to the general public, and not just the press and guests. All information about schedules and how to follow the 56th edition can be consulted at
