The event took place at the wonderful Barbacoa restaurant, who prepared delicious food, with a set menu and were so efficient on the night, thanks to a great team run by Lucy and Ricardo and who deserve a huge thank you for hosting this event.

The fundraiser had a great turnout and all had a great time due to the wonderful entertainment of The Three Buskerteers with Julia Hammond, Barbara Leitch and Roger Guppy, who performed a mix of old and new songs throughout the evening.

The event raised €6,600 which is an incredible amount due to the kind help and support of many local residents, who not only were there to enjoy their evening, but they kindly donated amazing prizes, which raised even more money for their local community. Unfortunately, it was also the last event for a while, that Julia and Captain Luis will do together as he has been posted to Colchester after many years here in the Algarve representing The Salvation Army.

“We wish Captain Luis all the best in all his future endeavours and all the success in his new venture, he will be sorely missed by a huge amount of people who he has helped over the years. Additionally, we would like to wish Captain Luis replacement a very warm welcome to the Algarve”.
