The Club is a section of Odiaxere Football Club who play in the Algarve Division One. OWFC play at Clube Desportivo De Odiaxere Stadium on the N125 between Lagos and Portimão every Tuesday and Friday.
The aim of walking football is exactly as the name suggests – you play football, at walking pace. It is aimed at people over 50, is inclusive and a fun and sociable version of the game and is slow paced but lacks none of the passion or excitement of the original game.
Whether you are looking to keep active, stay fit, socialise and meet new people or simply want to play for the love of the game, walking football offers the perfect opportunity to take to the pitch. As well as the health benefits associated with most forms of physical activity – keeping fit and active, weight loss etc, there are also mental health benefits that come with playing walking football especially as we get older.
Each session starts with a gentle warm up followed by a mixture of games before warming down.
Members ages range between 50 and 77 with countries represented from England, Wales, Scotland, Russia, Germany, USA, France and Sweden to name but a few.
If you would like to join us sessions are between 10.00am and 12 noon Tuesdays and Fridays at Clube Desportivo de Odiaxere (just off N125 at Odiaxere)
