The products contain 'Butylphenyl methylpropional', an aromatic chemical compound considered carcinogenic, whose use in cosmetics has been banned since March 1 in the European Union.

In a statement, the National Medicines and Health Products Authority (Infarmed) said that, as part of an inspection, it found that the company IFC Skincare Portugal – Produtos Dermatológicas, Unipessoal, Lda. was still selling cosmetic products under the Endocare brand (Nourishing Tensor Cream, Day SPF30, Tensor ampoules, Tensor Contour Eyes) which contained Butylphenyl methylpropional in their composition.

Also within the scope of the inspection action, the medicine authority "found the existence in the national market of cosmetic products of the Real Natura brand, which contained Butylphenyl methylpropional in its composition".

Among the products are conditioners, masks and shampoos for the hair and face cream by Real Natura.

For the same reasons, Infarmed had already ordered the withdrawal from the market of cosmetic products under the Real Voir brand.
