14 air assets, 1,542 firefighters and 473 vehicles are
continuing to fight the fire in Serra da Estrela which has been raging since
Saturday.

The fire, which started in the municipality of Covilhã and
spread to Manteigas, spread to the municipalities of Guarda and Gouveia
(District of Guarda).
During the afternoon of Wednesday, the fire forced the
evacuation of a campsite in the municipality of Manteigas, a decision which was
considered to be proactive by the municipality, “ensuring the safety of
people”.
