The national smartphone market fell with a bang in the third quarter of the year, both in terms of the number of units sold and overall revenue from sales.

According to IDC data provided to Dinheiro Vivo (DV), between July and September, 520,400 smartphones were sold in Portugal, 25.9% less than in the third quarter of 2021 (when more than 630,000 were sold machines). With the drop on the demand side, revenues also fell. Sales totalled 194 million euros, a year-on-year decline of 10%.
