The Open AI company is monetising the service through a subscription, ChatGPT Plus, allowing users to access the service and all the features without the restrictions imposed by the free version.

For USD 20 plus VAT (about EUR 22.95 at current exchange rates), the plan allows early access to the new features of ChatGPT, priority access to the service when there is a peak demand for the service, as well as faster responses. As previously announced by the platform, ChatGPT Plus was in the phase of gradual implementation.

ChatGPT is already having an impact on the labour market. According to Nova SBE's dean, this tool makes it possible to maintain a conversation with a communication system, with typically faster responses and even better quality, compared to some people. At universities, ChatGPT has made the task of detecting plagiarism more difficult and also in journalism this tool presents a threat, according to the president of APDC, as it makes it difficult to distinguish between what is true and what is not.

Last week, Google sought to launch its own artificial intelligence service, Bard. However, it did not immediately convince investors and the company even lost 7.5% of its stock market value after Google's promotional ad showed the program giving a factually wrong answer to a question posed.
