The unemployment rate in April was 6.8%, lower than in March, but 0.9 percentage points higher than the same period in 2022, according to the monthly estimates of employment and unemployment.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the unemployment rate "stood at 6.8%" in April, "a value lower than that of March and January 2023" - 0.2 percentage points and 0.3 percentage points, respectively -, "but higher than in April 2022" by 0.9 percentage points.
The rate recorded in April is "the lowest value since December 2022, when it was also 6.8%".
