His work features life in Portugal and especially the Algarve. He was born in Sweden but has lived in several other countries, including spending his childhood in South America, which influenced his work greatly.

When he first started painting in watercolour, he did it in an unusual way. Instead of Turneresque seascapes or diffuse pastel landscapes, his motives were often industrial geometric architecture, using rich, bold colours focussing on details. He is undoubtedly a unique watercolour artist.

When he first visited the Algarve in 1978, his choice of motives changed. The colourful houses and way of life reminded him of his childhood in South America, and this has inspired him to this day.

Recently, he has started depicting flowers and says: ” There is something special in letting your brush describe the shapes of Nature.” Exhibited work bears testament to this.
