According to the organisers of the festival, which has held five editions at Alfândega do Porto and one at Serralves Park in the same city, the change of venue stems from the desire to "meet the needs and expectations of festival-goers, ensuring better accessibility, larger infrastructure, and greater capacity."

Among the new features, the organisers highlight the debut of the "JN Rock à Moda do Porto" Stage, dedicated entirely to Portuguese music, while the "Sunset Stage" returns with a "new lease of life, designed to warm up the dance floor before the performances and extend the party afterward."

The Cure are scheduling their return to Portugal, where they have performed on multiple occasions, and will play in Maia shortly after their performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona (the Porto edition of Primavera Sound takes place from June 11th to 14th).

This year's North Festival, scheduled for May in Porto, was cancelled due to "internal problems related to the authorisation to lease the venue," the organisers announced in February.
