This project originated from a scientific cooperation agreement between the two universities, aiming to empower Mozambican teams through training, equipment installation, and skills development in indoor air quality, renewable energies, and energy efficiency.

The FCTUC has also indicated that the methodologies and infrastructure created in Pemba could be replicated in other regions of the country and in other African countries.
