The Azorean government justifies the adjustment in the maximum retail price with the “recent variations in the international market for reference prices of petroleum and energy products”.

From December 1st, unleaded 95 octane petrol will cost €1.622 per litre in the archipelago, 0.3 cents more than in November.

The price of road diesel is set at €1.449 per litre, representing an increase of 1.3 cents.

The price of coloured diesel for agriculture and fishing, defined in another decree, also increases by 1.3 cents per litre in December.

Coloured and marked diesel used in agriculture will cost €1.078 per litre, while the price of coloured and marked diesel used in fishing is set at €0.888 per litre.

Butane gas, which began to have monthly updates in January, also registers a price increase in December, of 1.5 cents per kilogram.

Butane gas sold to the public at the retailer's establishment, in cylinders of 26 litres or more, will cost €1.689 per kilogram, and that sold in 24-litre cylinders, constructed of lightweight materials (up to eight kilograms of containers), €1.885 per kilogram.

Piped butane gas costs €1.689 per kilogram and bulk butane gas €1.286 per kilogram.

The maximum prices for petroleum and energy products in the Azores are "changed on the 1st of each month and in amounts equivalent to the variation in the monthly European Price (PE) value".
