According to provisional data released today by the PSP in a statement, 6,495,621 records relate to passenger entries into national territory through that airport, and 4,881,476 correspond to departure records.
At the air border in Lisbon, for arrivals from outside the Schengen Area, the PSP denied entry to 1,867 people and detained 263.
Last year, the PSP intercepted 25,736 passengers, recorded 9,490 precautionary measures, and detected 464 cases of document fraud.
The PSP, through the National Foreigners and Borders Unit (UNEF), created in August, is responsible for the security of civil aviation infrastructure and the control of air borders in Portugal.
In the statement, the PSP reaffirms "its commitment to security in the control of external borders, as well as to European judicial cooperation, contributing to the location and detention of individuals wanted for the commission of serious crimes."
