Speaking to journalists, Pedro Baptista revealed that UB40 will perform on 18 July, following Portuguese musician Rui Veloso, with the rest of the line-up comprising Portuguese bands and one Spanish band, Mojinos Escozios, who will perform on 17 July.
Local audience
On 16 July, the evening is dedicated to the local audience – with a ticket price of €10 – featuring only Portuguese acts: GNTK, Xutos & Pontapés and David Antunes. On 17 July, alongside the Spanish acts, the Portuguese bands UHF and HMB will perform.
Number of registrations
Pedro Baptista estimates that they will match the 2025 registration figures and welcome around 20,000 participants; however, he expressed concern that rising fuel prices might deter some participants.
“In terms of cost, some things may go up at the last minute, and some participants may also be a bit wary of coming […], and as this is a motorbike rally, it makes perfect sense that most people attending the rally will come by motorbike,” he emphasised.
Nationality of participants
According to the president of Moto Clube Faro, most participants are Portuguese, followed by Spaniards, with a decline in British participants since the UK’s departure from the European Union in 2020.
However, there are also participants arriving from Brazil or the United States: “It’s not a huge number, but there end up being people from practically all over the world here at the rally,” he added.
Safety measures
Regarding the safety of motorcyclists, Pedro Baptista revealed that, as was the case last year, an emergency lane will be marked out on the access road to Faro Beach to create a single-lane route and prevent overtaking.
In addition to the main stage, there will be concerts on the Oasis stage, the traditional ‘Bike Show’, which will bring back the custom bike competition, and a space dedicated to children, the Bar dos Miúdos.
To the city of Faro
A stage will also be set up in Faro city centre to extend the event’s entertainment to the city, and, as in previous years, there will be a bus to transport people between Faro and the rally site, located in Vale das Almas, next to the airport and Faro Beach.
Tickets
Tickets for the four days, costing €70, are already on sale at the Moto Clube Faro headquarters shop and also online.
Anyone who buys a pass will be entered into a prize draw to win a trip to Daytona, United States, and an Indian motorbike.
