COVID 19: Portugal Update, 16 May

Portugal has registered today a total of 1,203 deaths related to covid-19, 13 more than on Friday, and 28,810 infected, another 227, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today by the General Directorate of Health.

In comparison with Friday's data, which recorded 1,190 deaths, today there was an increase in deaths of 1%.

Regarding the number of confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus (28,810), data from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) show that there are 227 more cases than on Friday (28,583), representing an increase of 0.8% .

The North region has the highest number of deaths (684), followed by the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (267), the Center (221), the Algarve (15), the Azores (15) and the Alentejo, which records a case, advances the epidemiological situation report, with data updated until midnight on Thursday, maintaining the Autonomous Region of Madeira with no record of deaths.
