The sentence was delivered on 15 October.

According to the sentence, the driver had a rate of at least 2.46 grams of alcohol/litre of blood (higher than the crime rate of 1.2 g/l).

While the GNR police officers were preparing their report for presentation in court, the defendant offered them 500 euros to prevent them from reporting the crime, repeating this proposal even after being warned that it constituted a criminal offence.

The defendant was sentenced to one year's imprisonment, replaced by an 80-day fine, for committing a crime of active corruption.

He was also sentenced to a 60-day fine and prohibited to drive for four months.
