According to borders and immigration service SEF, the eight "next generation e-gates" were installed on Saturday and make it possible, "in less than 20 seconds", to "read passports with biometric data".
SEF said this weekend it controlled more than 22 thousand passengers and 103 flights in 48 hours at Faro airport
