The flames, which burned with great intensity since 2:19pm and had four active sectors, were combated by more than 400 firefighters and 10 aerial means, having caused injuries to two operational personnel, Commander Filipe Regueira, of the Civil Protection of Santarém

"A firefighter was rescued from exhaustion and smoke inhalation and a forest sapper was assisted after trauma to an upper limb," said Filipe Regueira.

According to this operative of the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Santarém, with the withdrawal of the 10 aerial means that were operating until around 8:30pm, the fire consolidation phase now takes place, with the support of around 400 firefighters who remain on the ground, 123 vehicles and three tracking machines.
