Until the introduction of the changes youngsters aged 16 and 17 could legally consumed wine and beer.


But as of tomorrow that will stop and all under-18s will be prohibited from purchasing alcohol from establishments, and establishments from selling it to them.


Offenders caught selling alcohol to minors face fines that range from €500 to €30,000.
