The new boss of Staffordshire team Port Vale, Football League Division One, is Bruno Ribeiro.
The 40-year-old spent most of his playing career at Vitoria de Setúbal but also turned out for Leeds United and Sheffield United between 1997 and 2001.
Four years ago, early in his managerial career, Ribeiro was in charge at SC Farense.
The highly respected young coach has already added three Portuguese players to his Port Vale squad. Midfielder Paulo Tavares, 30, defender Kiko and striker Carlos Saleiro, also 30, have signed two-year deals.
Kiko and Tavares played for Ribeiro at previous club Setúbal, while Saleiro joins from Portuguese Division Two side Oriental de Lisboa.
Kiko, capped by Portugal at Under-20 level, will be playing under Ribeiro for a third time, having been signed by him on loan last season at Académico Viseu.
Saleiro, who started his career at the world famous Sporting youth academy, was the first person in Portugal to be born following In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
