Portway on 16 March warned that there will be disruptions in the operation of Porto airport due to the quarantine of workers, after an employee was infected by the new coronavirus.

In a statement, Portway informs that following the positive case of Covid-19 in an employee who works at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, “all the people who were in contact with the employee” were tracked and that the health authorities gave “indication of quarantine mandatory for all screened persons", so there will have to be an adjustment of airport operations due to lack of workers.

"The lack of the people concerned will require a temporary adjustment of operations in Porto, with consequences that are not yet possible to define precisely", says Portway.

"With the aim of readjusting or rescheduling operations, Portway has already informed its customer airlines that the adjustments in question will not allow all flights to be carried out according to the existing schedule", reads the statement released by the 'handling' (aircraft support services, such as passengers, luggage).

The company asks affected passengers to inquire with the respective airlines about the alternatives, but not to go to the airport to obtain this information, using the telephone or other alternative channels.

I am in the Algarve and have extreme difficulty getting uptodate news in English about the Portugese government efforts, restrictions and Plans concerning the coronavirus. Especially I am interested in train and plane/airport restrictions and Lisbon Airport closing and TAP cancellations (nothing mentioned on their website). Can you please help?
