The arrival of the September equinox sees the start of autumn and will last until 21 December, which will also be the shortest day of the year.
While autumn arrives today, with it comes cloudy conditions coupled with some showers in the coming week. The weekend will feel more like summer, with thermometers set to climb into the high 20s.
