The first 20 minutes saw United go 1-0 down after an excellent effort from the Brazilian Bernard in his first start this season to beat De Gea at his near post in the 19th minute.
United however quickly bounced back in the 24th minutes with an pinpoint precision pass from Luke Shaw on the left wing to find Fernandes with acres of space in the Everton box who calmly found the top corner with a brilliant header. Fernandes found the net again 5 minutes later after a lay off from Rashford, the Portuguese midfielder cut back onto his right foot and hit a looping shot leaving Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with no chance to reach it.
Edison Cavani put the game to rest in the 94th minute after a brilliant break from United, Fernandes carried the ball from midfield to the edge of the Everton penalty area, fakes the shot and passes to leave Cavani with an easy shot to find his first goal for the club since his move from PSG.
The win will surely take the pressure off Ole Gunner Solskjaer after a string of lacklustre performances, as United look to keep their title hopes alive. PM
