Presidential candidate Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was re-elected to office yesterday, winning the vote this year in all municipalities in Portugal, becoming the first president ever to achieve this feat. In the Algarve, President de Sousa won a by significant majority in all counties. After being re-elected, in a speech made at the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Law, he said he was "deeply honoured and grateful" for the victory that gives him a second term in Belém.
