These results were communicated by António Costa through messages he posted on his personal Twitter social network account.

"With the extraordinary effort of our health professionals we have been able to face the most critical phase of the pandemic. The confinement is beginning to produce results and vaccination is creating immunity", wrote the Prime Minister.

In the same message, the leader of the Portuguese executive thanked "all the offers of support from the various European partners".

"They reflect the value of solidarity and strengthen the feeling of belonging to the European Union. I welcome the German team that has just arrived in Portugal", he added.

The German clinical team, made up of 26 health professionals, which comes to support the health system in the face of the pressure caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, arrived in Portugal and will work at Hospital da Luz in Lisbon, he confirmed to Lusa, a source from the Ministry of Health.

The German aid process for Portugal started on 25 January following a request for help from Health Minister Marta Temido to German Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.
