Portuguese taught as part of the national curriculum in 33 countries

The Portuguese language is currently taught as part of the national curriculum in schools in 33 countries.

Foreign Affairs Minister Augusto Santos Silva highlighted the examples of Senegal, Uruguai and China, where interest in the Portuguese language has had a “rather significant” uptake. He also lamented the postponement of the Leipzig Book Fair in Germany until 2022, where Portugal was due to be featured as the Guest Country.
