“In the first quarter of this year, the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) registered 70 criminal cases at Lisbon Airport air border, of which 63 correspond to arrests in flagrante delicto, thus representing an increase of more than 100% of registered crime, considering the same period over the last decade”, said SEF.

According to the note, “95% of arrests in flagrante delicto recorded relate to document fraud, namely through the use of forged and foreign documents”.

“Aid to illegal immigration and execution of arrest warrants represent the remaining crime detected”, they add.

SEF also states that “89% of arrests in flagrante delicto, between January and March of this year, are associated with the phenomenon of migration with the United States of America (via Cancún), Canada and the United Kingdom as the final destination”.
