"This is one of the many projects that Voltalia is developing in Portugal. We want to contribute to the country's energy transition and this park is a good example of the type of projects that represent our ability to execute", says Voltalia's manager in Portugal, João Amaral.

According to data from Voltalia, the Photovoltaic Park of Pinhal Novo, municipality of Palmela and district of Setúbal, consists of around 22,000 solar modules, has an installed power of 11.8 MW (Megawatt) and an annual production capacity of 24.3 GWh (Gigawatt-hour).

Speaking to Lusa, the mayor of Palmela, Álvaro Amaro (CDU), welcomed the start of yet another investment in renewable energy in the municipality and added that the municipality expects other large investments to be made in the renewable energy sector.

The Pinhal Novo Photovoltaic Park is one of the five that make up the new Portuguese 'cluster' of Voltalia - Complexo Garrido -, which also includes the parks of Alcochete, Antuzede, Vale Serrão and Oliveira de Frades and represents a global investment of 50 million euros.
