"The unemployment rate was 6.1%, higher than in July 2025 (0.1 percentage points) and lower than in May 2025 (0.1 percentage points) and August 2024 (0.2 percentage points)," the National Statistics Institute (INE) reported.

The INE also released the final figures for the month of July, having revised upwards the unemployment rate for that month to 6.0% (compared to the initially estimated 5.8%), a value 0.1 percentage points lower than that of June 2025, 0.2 percentage points lower than that of April 2025 and 0.5 percentage points lower than that of July 2024.
