The balance was released by the PSP, which revealed that it had checked more than 9.5 million people at Portuguese airports in the first six months of the year. The same police force revealed that more than 15,600 people were intercepted and precautionary measures were imposed in 6,052 cases.
In total, 77 judicial expulsion cases and 23 coercive removal cases were opened. According to the PSP, 142 citizens were also helped to return voluntarily to their country of origin. There were also 150 requests for international protection.
The PSP carries out its border control duties at nine border posts at the airports of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Beja, Madeira, Porto Santo and the Azores (Santa Maria, São Miguel and Terceira/Aerogare das Lajes).
Although they are not considered air border posts, the PSP also has border control duties at Tires Aerodrome and Horta Airport.

Just got home from Lisbon. It took us 2 hours after we checked in until we got to the gate. Immigration only had 2-3 people working and the line in Immigration looked like you were at Disneyworld waiting for a ride. People were missing their flights bc of this and is was so hot in that area as well. So I don't think Lisbon airport is doing all that great. People were actually pushing you aside to get to the Immigration kiosks. Not a good look, do better.

I agree with the initial poster. Portugal is slowly being colonized by the EU global megastructure, migrants seeking a nursery full of freebies, rich foreign tourists and troublemakers, European cultural degeneracy, and foreign corporations. In a few years Portugal will only be recognized by what it is not. So please, foreigners, go away and leave the country alone. Also, Portugal needs to ally itself more with the sane eastern European former communist nations rather than with the rapidly disintegrating northwestern European nations that will die quite soon due to enrichment.
