According to the Vila Real de Santo António City Hall, the championship features six international rounds spread across Europe and South America. The Monte Gordo stage will be the fifth stage of the competition.
During the competition, athletes will cover a six-kilometre course on Monte Gordo beach, where professional athletes from around the world will compete.
"This edition's route features greater dynamics and new jumping areas, increasing the spectacular nature of the competition," the city hall stated in a statement.
The Monte Gordo Sand Race begins on Friday, November 28th, with the appropriate technical checks. Over the following two days, two races will take place per day, one dedicated to motorcycles and one for quads.
This free-entry event will also feature shows, trial displays, and activities for all ages.
