"The violation of international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the Charter of the United Nations, values in which we all believe, is truly dramatic," stressed the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, considering that the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine has created "a new stage in international life."
Paulo Rangel recalled that Portugal has a large Ukrainian community and that it has stood by Ukraine with humanitarian, financial, and military support.
“We believe in Ukraine’s European future,” the Foreign Minister reaffirmed, adding: “We celebrate these four years with sadness, with concern, but also believing that, in 2026, a sustainable, lasting, and just peace agreement will be possible.”
