On its website, Porto Santo Lines states that it decided to cancel the departure from Funchal at 8:00 AM and the return at 6:00 PM, “due to the bad weather conditions forecast for Porto Santo, which could jeopardize the safety of passengers and the ship”.

Due to this situation, the carrier will make an extra trip on Saturday, with two departures from Funchal at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with returns from Porto Santo at 12:00 PM and 10:30 PM.

The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed the Madeira archipelago, including the mountainous regions, north and south coasts, and the island of Porto Santo, under a yellow warning due to forecasts of rain, wind, and rough seas.

Regarding rough seas, the warning is in effect until midnight on Friday, with waves expected to reach 4.5 metres in the northern and southern parts of Madeira.
