St Vincent’s Central congregation is part of the Church of England’s Anglican chaplaincy in the Algarve, offering a warm and inclusive welcome to all. We gather every Sunday at 9:30am for worship at the beautiful Capela da Misericórdia in Boliqueime, with services conducted in English.
Our community is made up of Anglicans from many different countries, united by a shared commitment to worship and fellowship. Rooted in the sacramental tradition, our services centre on Holy Communion and reflect a theology that is open, thoughtful, and welcoming, grounded in grace and hospitality.
At St Vincent’s, we believe faith is lived out through outreach and care for our neighbours. This commitment takes shape in our long-standing relationship with the Centro Comunitário de Vale Silves, supporting their vital work with families and, in particular, the elderly and the housebound. Through this partnership, we seek to share the love of God in practical and meaningful ways.
After each service, we meet for coffee at a local café - a time to share friendship, conversation, and fellowship. Many of us also socialise outside church, supporting one another and building a caring community that extends beyond Sunday worship.
Whether you are a long-term resident or a visitor to the Algarve, you will find a place here. We welcome those with much faith and those with little; those who have worshipped often and those returning after a long time away and those for whom Church is unknown. Our hope is to create space for God to work in our lives and to discover that together in community.
