Renault is the second-best-selling brand in Portugal, registering 36% growth in private sales, with the Clio as the best-selling car (8,242).
The brand also recorded a 150% increase in electric vehicle sales.
In global sales, the group recorded a 3.2% increase in volume in 2025, to 2.33 million vehicles, driven by higher sales of private cars internationally but offset by lower sales of light commercial vehicles.
For Renault, the French manufacturer’s main brand, sales increased by 3.2% compared to 2024 (1.63 million units), including a 10% increase in private cars but a 16.5% drop in commercial vehicles.
Renault sold 2,336,807 vehicles last year, a record achieved mainly thanks to growth in various emerging markets, while in Europe the French group suffered a decline due to a drop in van sales.
In Europe, registrations of passenger vehicles increased by 5.9%, more than double the market (which rose by 2.3%), but the van segment suffered a 29.6% drop in the first half of the year and a 10.6% drop in the second.
The company sold 1,607,848 cars in Europe, where its three main markets are located: France, with 533,692 units sold and a 26.8% share; Italy, with 186,158 units sold and a 10.9% share; and Spain, with 174,135 units sold (13%).
