Delivered in partnership with Nobel British International School (Lagoa), Algarve Evolution, and Algarve Tech Hub, the event brought the local community together to connect students with mentors, role models, and practical pathways into responsible technology.

During the sprint, students worked in teams to explore how AI works, build confidence with ethical and responsible use of AI, and develop ideas that address real-world challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Teams presented their solutions to a judging panel, with prizes awarded for outstanding teamwork and innovation.
Winners: Team 5 AIT with Ai Eat
Team 5 AIT won the Algarve AI Design Sprint with Ai Eat, an AI-powered concept designed to help low-income and time-constrained families eat more nutritiously through smarter budget planning and meal suggestions.
Runners-up: EqualMinds

The runners-up project, EqualMinds, addressed gender stereotypes in education, focusing on how early expectations can shape confidence, subject choices, and long-term opportunity. The team proposed an AI-enabled learning experience that helps students recognise and challenge bias through reflective prompts and scenarios, while supporting adults with guidance to avoid reinforcing assumptions.
Elena Sinel, Founder and CEO of Teens in AI, said:
“Watching young people take on real social challenges with seriousness, creativity, and care is exactly what the AI Design Sprint is for. It gives me real hope for the future when we have such talented, curious, and values-led young people building solutions that put people and the planet first. When a community shares time, mentorship, and belief in the next generation, everyone benefits, and we move closer to a more responsible and inclusive tech future.”
