Guerra Junqueiro has lived a special life, from being a voice of the anti-establishment movement against the monarchy and the church. He later reconciled with the church and wrote about the simple life.

Nonetheless, his impact is well felt on history. His works were fuel to the fire that ended the monarchy in Portugal back in 1910, and his legacy is remembered in the national pantheon.
