If you’re visiting Lisbon and want something a little different from the usual historic sights, the Telecabine Lisboa is a great option. It’s located in Parque das Nações, a modern area by the Tagus River that was developed for Expo 98.
The cable car runs for about 1.2 kilometres between the Oceanário and the Vasco da Gama Tower. The ride takes about 8–12 minutes and reaches about 30 metres in height, offering wide views of the river, marina, gardens, and nearby landmarks. The cabins are enclosed, so it’s comfortable and safe in most weather conditions.
It’s an easy activity to fit into your day, especially if you’re already exploring this part of Lisbon. Tickets are usually available on-site, and there’s rarely a long wait. For the best experience, try going in the late afternoon or at sunset, when the light over the river is at its best.
