International Sharing School Taguspark, Lisbon (ISS) has successfully completed its International Baccalaureate (IB) re-evaluation process, reaffirming its position as one of Lisbon’s leading international schools and a benchmark for high-quality IB education in Portugal. Conducted in April 2026, the comprehensive evaluation reviewed the school’s Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP), confirming that the school not only continues to meet all IB standards, but in several areas exceeds them.
The rigorous three-day visit involved a team of IB evaluators meeting with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders, alongside classroom observations and an extensive review of school documentation. The outcome was overwhelmingly positive, with the final report recognising International Sharing School as a “strong and well-aligned IB continuum” delivering an exceptional international education within a caring, inclusive, and future-focused environment.

One of the most significant outcomes of the evaluation was the confirmation that the school’s authorisation to offer all three IB programmes will continue without any conditions — a reflection of the school’s consistent commitment to excellence and continuous development. Notably, several areas within the MYP and DP were highlighted as exceeding IB expectations, particularly in relation to teaching, learning, and assessment practices.

The evaluation team praised the school’s clear sense of purpose and principled leadership, especially in light of the school’s significant growth and leadership evolution over the past five years. The report highlighted the strong alignment between the school’s vision and the IB mission and values, as well as the collective commitment across the community to student learning, well-being, and international-mindedness.
A defining strength identified throughout the evaluation was the school’s warm and inclusive culture. Students described feeling safe, supported, and genuinely known by their teachers, while parents expressed confidence in the school’s pastoral care systems and educational approach. The IB team commended the school’s respect for cultural and linguistic diversity and its dedication to creating a community rooted in kindness, belonging, and global awareness.

Student well-being and inclusion were also recognised as key pillars of the school’s success. The evaluators highlighted the effectiveness of the school’s safeguarding procedures, academic and emotional support systems, and language support services. The school’s ability to support students holistically — academically, socially, and emotionally — was viewed as a major strength, alongside the thoughtful transitions between the PYP, MYP, and DP.
Teaching and learning practices received particularly strong recognition. Evaluators noted that lessons were purposeful, engaging, and carefully planned, with students encouraged to think critically, reflect deeply, and communicate confidently. Clear and consistent assessment practices, combined with meaningful feedback, were identified as central to improving student outcomes and supporting academic growth.

The report also acknowledged International Sharing School’s strong culture of continuous improvement. Recommendations from the IB team focused not on concerns, but on future development opportunities, including strengthening curriculum links across programmes, increasing student agency and inquiry, and further enhancing learning environments and support structures to sustain long-term growth.
This successful re-evaluation represents an important milestone for International Sharing School and reinforces its reputation as a leading IB continuum school in Lisbon — one committed to developing confident, compassionate, and globally minded young people prepared for the future.
