The 23-year-old signed a contract valid until 30 June 2025 with the ‘dragons’, after having stood out in the service of Famalicão, where he was the second best scorer in the 2019/20 season, with 10 goals.
In his first statement as a player for the ‘dragons’, Toni Martínez said he was very pleased with the transfer.
“This is a unique feeling and a goal accomplished in my career: to join the best in Portugal, and I hope to return the trust placed in me on the field,” said the striker, in statements to FC PortoTV.
Martínez defined himself as a player who adapts to any scenario, without hiding the desire to score goals.
“I am a player who likes any kind of football. I’m a player who always adapts to everything. But mainly I’m a player who always thinks about the goal, about scoring goals and trying to help the team as much as possible. I’m a very committed player to the team and I’m very happy,” he said.
The striker believes that he will still “grow and learn” a lot at FC Porto, a club that, according to the player, has “one of the best teams in the world and that has the best players in the world”.
