The two new wards will open in Faro and Lagos

The Algarve has created two new wards with 56 beds for non-covid patients in two infirmary and outpatient surgery extensions. This comes following reports the 100-bed Portimão field hospital has already had to turn away patients from Lisbon. The two new wards will open in Faro and Lagos. One opens tomorrow, the other before Tuesday. The recent surge in covid cases has seen the Portimão field hospital have to refuse patients from other regions.
