Grade Ribeiro was involved in the project for the Centro Cultural de Belém and the Champalimaud Foundation.

According to Jorge Meneses, president of the Portuguese Association of Designers and Consultants, Grade Ribeiro, “was a reference in his area”.

“He was a water and sewage specialist who worked with many leading architects. He was a reference in hydraulic engineering in Portugal”, said Jorge Meneses, in a statement to Lusa.

The president of the Portuguese Association of Designers and Consultants highlighted “the vitality” of Grade Menezes, who is also the author of several painting exhibitions.

“He was a very attentive person, who loved to think about matters seriously. He was an engineer in the true definition of the term, a person with ingenuity”, said Jorge Meneses.

Manuel José Grade Ribeiro died following an accidental fall, while walking along the Alvor estuary, in Portimão.

In a statement, the National Maritime Authority (AMN) explained that the death, which occurred yesterday morning, was declared at the scene.
