The list of the highest-paid athletes in the world, in the last calendar year 2023, has been published by Sportico, with Cristiano Ronaldo heading the list.

The publication estimates that the Al Nassr player has earned around 275 million dollars (255.6 million euros), of which 215 million dollars (199.8 million euros) relate to salaries and the remaining 60 million dollars (55.8 million euros) in sponsorships.

The Portuguese international holds a comfortable advantage over the second name on this table, golfer Jon Rahm.

Ronaldo is awesome, but he's the highest paid active athlete in the world, not the highest paid athlete.
