“EDP's net profit increased to 952 million euros in 2023 supported by the recovery of water production in Portugal to levels in line with the historical average (after the extreme drought in 2022), the increase in results from Brazil, where EDP now holds 100% of its subsidiary EDP Brazil, as well as the gains in renewable asset rotation transactions in Spain, Poland and Brazil”, according to a note released by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

According to the company, the net result includes 310 million euros “in non-recurring losses associated with impairments at the Pecém coal plant, wind projects in Colombia and combined cycle plants in Portugal”.
