The formalization of the first allocation, of approximately €450 million, of the total financing of the credit line of €1.34 billion, was signed at the Prime Minister's official residence in Lisbon.

According to the statement released, the credit line agreed between the Government and the EIB will give municipalities a longer period, until 2030, to present housing responses (a defined target that, within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, ended in June 2026), providing for "more advantageous conditions, with lower interest rates and more generous grace periods".
