The goal of this project is to bring back old traditions dating back to the Viking and Roman Empire, each with its own twists on the honey.
Mead is often seen as the first alcoholic drink made by humans, and was widely used 4000 years ago. Its usage predates the usage of sugar, which arrived in Europe in the 16th century.
Historically, honey was seen as a commodity and used as a sweetener and medicine, and by bringing back these traditions, Lu Citanea hopes to connect its customers to ancient practices.
