The world-renowned luxury golf and lifestyle resort beat off competition from some of the biggest names in Portuguese golf to take the coveted number one position in the new poll.
Voted for by golfers across Europe, Quinta do Lago scored highly for its array of amenities both on and off the fairways, with website users heaping praise on its combination of world-class golf and lifestyle facilities.
Announcing the poll results, Leadingcourses.com said: “The new ranking is something to be proud of as golfers really seem to value their experience at Quinta do Lago. We wish the resort continued success.”
The award is the latest accolade to be bestowed on Quinta do Lago following another memorable year, with others including all three of its 18-hole championship golf courses – the North, South and Laranjal – featuring in Golf World magazine’s respected ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe 2019’ rankings for the first time in its history.
Sean Moriarty, chief executive at Quinta do Lago, said: “It’s always an honour to receive any award, and for the resort to have been voted number one in Portugal by the people that count most, individual golfers, makes this news particularly gratifying.
“At Quinta do Lago, we are striving all the time to provide the best possible experience to our residents and guests – on and off the golf course – and we’re determined to continue working hard and investing to maintain the resort’s status among Europe’s elite golfing destinations.”
Set just 15 minutes from Faro airport in Portugal’s famous Algarve region, Quinta do Lago has been at the forefront of Europe’s elite golf, sports and family destinations for nearly five decades.
