Analysing the accumulated result for the year, there was “growth in sales to the USA (plus 9.7 percent in value and 16.9 percent in volume), United Kingdom (plus 11.2 percent in value and 21.7 percent in volume) and Brazil (plus 14.3 percent in value and 16 percent in volume), with variations in a volume greater than two digits” in year-on-year terms.

Despite this positive data, “the French and the German market continued to decline”, compared
to the first eight months of last year.

The Ministry of Agriculture also highlighted “the opportunity found by Portuguese operators in the Nordic markets (Sweden, Norway and Finland)”, places where “growth rates of over 40 percent were registered in the months from January to August this year.”
